Mani Rimdu Festival is the vibrant festival of the Khumbu region celebrated in the month of September and November in Tengboche Monasteries and surrounding Sherpa villages.
Peak Endeavour Treks have designed this amazing festival trekking in Nepal for the enchanting festival of the famous Sherpa People in the Khumbu region of Nepal. The celebration takes place in the magnificent land of the Sherpa in Tengboche region of Nepal in Khumbu region. The journey starts from the mountainous flight to the small town of Sherpa the Lukla from Kathmandu. The trekking in the trail takes you to the Tengboche as the regular EBC trekking in Nepal passing by the places like Phakding and Namche Bazaar. The acclimatization process takes place in the Namche Bazaar where the short hiking to the Khumjung Village and the Everest View Hotel takes place. Once you have been acclimatized in the Sherpa capital of the Khumbu region of Nepal then the trekking would take you to the Tengboche where you will participate in the magnificent Mani Rimdu Festival. Usually the festival is celebrated to mark the victory of the Buddhism over the Bon religion. This has been the tradition since long time and marked every year in the month of the September and November. The recitations of the prayers are made for three days in the monasteries of Tengboche as well as in the surrounding villages of the Khumbu region. Marked or celebrated with colorful dances and the prayer chants the three days would go away in swish with celebrations through drinks, food and rituals practices. Once you have participated in the festival and savored the enchanting views of the mountains like Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Thamserku, Amadablam etc. the trek reroute back to Lukla for the flight back to Kathmandu.

Day to Day Itinerary of Mani Rimdu Festival.

Day 01 :

Arrival at Tribhuwan International Airport (TIA), you will be met by our Airport Representative, and transfer to hotel. Overnight at hotel. B.B.

Day 02 :

Full day sightseeing tour of Kathmandu valley (Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath, Swayambhu, and Kathmandu durbar square). Overnight at hotel. B.B.

Day 03 :

Today early in the morning, we drive about 15 to 30 minutes to Tribhuwan International Airport. After 30 to 45 minutes of scenic flight to Lukla (2804 mtrs.), we begin our trek to Phakding (2610 mtrs.) - 3 hours easy walking. Overnight at Guest House. B.L.D.

Day 04 :

Trek to Namche Bazaar (3535 mtrs.). Overnight at Guest House. B.L.D.

Day 05 :

Acclimatization day in Namche Bazaar
This is a day for an acclimatization. We have a fine walk around the valley to adjust with thin air. We will take you for a hike up to Khumjung and Khunde there you can see the traditional custom of Sherpa peoples.  Namche Bazaar is known as the gateway of the Everest. Besides, a fine view of the Everest and other mountains can be overviewed from this place. Overnight at Guest House. B.L.D.

Day 06 :

Namche Bazaar to Tengboche (3850m). 
By reaching Tengboche, we visit a monastery known as Tengboche monastery. Then you will be taken to observe the prayer ceremony whether in the evening or morning. Overnight at Guest House. B.L.D.

Day 07 :

Tengboche Day 1st  Mani Rimdu - ONG - (Blessing). Overnight at Guest House. B.L.D.

Day 08 :

Tengboche Day 2nd CHAM (Masked Dance). Overnight at Guest House. B.L.D.

Day 09 :

Tengboche Day 3rd JINSAK - (Closing Ceremony). Overnight at Guest House. B.L.D.

Day 10 :

Tengboche to Dingboche (4350 mtrs.). Overnight at Guest House. B.L.D.

Day 11 :

Day trip to Chhukung valley and trek back to Dingboche. 
Today you can enjoy another day for acclimatization. This day we will have trip to Chhukung valley, then we return to Dingboche in the evening. We will take you to Chhukung Ri (5546 mtrs) too. From there, we can observe a fifth highest mountain Makalu and 360 degree of panoramic mountain view. Overnight at Guest House. B.L.D.

Day 12 :

Dingboche to Lobuche (4950 mtrs.). Overnight at Guest House. B.L.D.

Day 13 :

Lobuche to Ghorakshep (5160 mtrs.). Overnight at Guest House. B.L.D.

Day 14 :

The day starts with a hike up to Kalapathar (5545 mtrs.), an excellent viewpoint to observe the Mount. Everest and innumerable spectacular mountains views. Then our overnight stay will be at Ghorakshep. Overnight at Guest House. B.L.D.

Day 15 :

Trek to Everest Base camp (5400 mtrs.) and return to Ghorakshep. Overnight at Guest House. B.L.D.

Day 16 :

Trek down to Pheriche (4240 mtrs.). Overnight at Guest House. B.L.D.

Day 17 :

Trek to Namche Bazaar. Overnight at Guest House. B.L.D.

Day 18 :

Trek to Lukla. Overnight at Guest House. B.L.D.

Day 19 :

Morning flight back to Kathmandu from Lukla. Overnight at hotel. B.B.

Day 20 :

Leisure day in Kathmandu (it's also spare day incase of bad weather in Lukla). Overnight at hotel. B.B.

Day 21 :

Transfer to Airport for your home departure. Farewell !!
