Testimonial

Peak Endeavour’s Nepal provides an excellent overall experience from the time of arrival in Nepal until you leave on your flight home. Norbu Lama, the owner of Peak Endeavour’s is a very knowledgeable guide. He knows much about the people, religion and regions of Nepalese trekking. Moreover he provided complete sightseeing and shopping in the Kathmandu area during our stay. His staff is courteous, honest and provides professional service and excellent security throughout the trek. The kitchen staff and chief cook understand the health concerns of weak western stomachs and did their best to keep us healthy. No one had health issues throughout our 20 day trek. The pace of the trek is well suited to achieve the altitude goals of the highest pass. Acute Mountain sickness was a non-issue as we progressed at a pace that provided adequate time to adapt to the altitude. The camping outfit provided by Peak Endeavour’s used high quality sleeping and eating tents. We felt like royalty. The trek itself was the best ever. Much diversity of culture, terrain, and ecologies. In summary, we would have no hesitation in any regard to use Peak Endeavour’s Nepal again in the future and greatly enjoyed our trip in 2010. We will be back!

Trip Overview Everest Base Camp Trek

Tibetans refer to it as “Chomolungma”, or “Mother Goddess of the Earth”. To the Nepalis, it is known as “Sagarmatha”, or “Sky Head”. To the rest of the world, its name represents a place more powerful than any other on earth. Mt. Everest. Located in Sagarmatha National Park, an UNESCO world heritage site, this trek will follow a famously travelled route through lush valleys, friendly Sherpa villages and incredible alpine views. Starting in Lukla, the trail follows the Dudh Kosi River up to Namache Bazaar. From Namache Bazzaar the path leads to the famous and beautifully coloured monastery in the village of Tengboche. This is where the first memorable views of Everest will open up. Upon reaching the Khumbu glacier, the destination of Everest Base Camp is reached, where visitors will witness the Khumbu Icefall and have the opportunity to climb Kala Pattar (elev. 5,545m). Meaning “Black Rock” in Nepali and Hindi, Kala Pattar will provide a stunning vantage point to view the massive glaciers, razor sharp ridge lines and towering peaks of the surrounding giants of Nuptse Nup II, Changtse, Lhotse and, of course, the largest of them all, Everest.

Moderate to strenuous trekking from 2,805m (9,200ft) to 4,940m (16,200ft) with optional day hikes up to 5550m (18,200ft). Accommodation in comfortable lodges run by Sherpa families. The trek starts with a flight from Kathmandu and includes all meals, services of experienced Sherpa trek guide and porters to carry luggage. Clients carry day-pack only and walk at their own pace
