Trip Overview Pumori Expedition (7,161m)
Pumori is the most popular mountains for those who whish to climb 7000m peaks in Nepal. It requires a moderate technical climb on ice and snow. Normally, three camps are set in the approach above the base camp. The normal route for the climbing is South East Ridge.
A Base camp will be set up at 5300m. We climb through the glaciers for approx. 4 hours and reach Camp 1 at 5700m. From Camp 1, we climb 480m. on the face with 40-60 degrees slope and pass through a snow wall to reach camp 2 at 6200m. on a narrow ridge. From camp 2, we climb approx. 450m. through ice with 30-60 degrees slopes passing through ice walls and crevasses. This section is prone to avalanches from big seracs hanging on the shoulder above. Camp 3 will be set up at an altitude of 6480m. on the ridge . Passing through crevasses, we climb up to Pumori cliff and then to the summit.

Days 01 : Arrival in Kathmandu and hotel transfer.
Days 02 - 04 : Offical formalities in Kathmandu
Days 05 : Kathmandu-Lukla-Phakding.
Days 06 : Namche
Days 07 : Rest at Namche.
Days 08 : Tengboche.
Days 09 : Pheriche
Days 10 : Lobuche.
Days 11 : Base Camp.
Days 12 - 28 : Climbing period.
Days 29 - 34 : Retrace to Kathmandu

Peak Endeavour’s Nepal provides an excellent overall experience from the time of arrival in Nepal until you leave on your flight home. Norbu Lama, the owner of Peak Endeavour’s is a very knowledgeable guide. He knows much about the people, religion and regions of Nepalese trekking. Moreover he provided complete sightseeing and shopping in the Kathmandu area during our stay. His staff is courteous, honest and provides professional service and excellent security throughout the trek. The kitchen staff and chief cook understand the health concerns of weak western stomachs and did their best to keep us healthy. No one had health issues throughout our 20 day trek. The pace of the trek is well suited to achieve the altitude goals of the highest pass. Acute Mountain sickness was a non-issue as we progressed at a pace that provided adequate time to adapt to the altitude. The camping outfit provided by Peak Endeavour’s used high quality sleeping and eating tents. We felt like royalty. The trek itself was the best ever. Much diversity of culture, terrain, and ecologies. In summary, we would have no hesitation in any regard to use Peak Endeavour’s Nepal again in the future and greatly enjoyed our trip in 2010. We will be back!
