Testimonial

Peak Endeavour’s Nepal provides an excellent overall experience from the time of arrival in Nepal until you leave on your flight home. Norbu Lama, the owner of Peak Endeavour’s is a very knowledgeable guide. He knows much about the people, religion and regions of Nepalese trekking. Moreover he provided complete sightseeing and shopping in the Kathmandu area during our stay. His staff is courteous, honest and provides professional service and excellent security throughout the trek. The kitchen staff and chief cook understand the health concerns of weak western stomachs and did their best to keep us healthy. No one had health issues throughout our 20 day trek. The pace of the trek is well suited to achieve the altitude goals of the highest pass. Acute Mountain sickness was a non-issue as we progressed at a pace that provided adequate time to adapt to the altitude. The camping outfit provided by Peak Endeavour’s used high quality sleeping and eating tents. We felt like royalty. The trek itself was the best ever. Much diversity of culture, terrain, and ecologies. In summary, we would have no hesitation in any regard to use Peak Endeavour’s Nepal again in the future and greatly enjoyed our trip in 2010. We will be back!

The capital city of Nepal, Kathmandu offers such a diverse extent of ancient ritual practices, traditions, thriving culture and ways of living that almost all travel packages in Nepal initiates with day tour of Kathmandu.
The mesmerizing day tour gets triggered at around 8:30am in the morning as we take a casual stroll through the freak streets of Thamel, the hotspot for tourists, which is stringed with numerous souvenir shops selling the ornately detailed handicrafts and sculptures crafted by the skilled hands of Nepal. ‘Garden of Dreams’ will be our first stop where we will have the pleasure of taking steps into the Wonderland where the beautiful garden exists being intensified with countless blooming flowers, cascade and dew ponds. Sipping hot coffee in the adjoining Café and having quick peeks into the Kaiser Library is a fine idea prior to continuing the journey towards Narayanhiti Museum that once used to be the Royal Residence of Nepal until Nepal was declared a Republican state few years back. Treading into the artistic Narayanhiti Museum will gift us with the rare opportunity of knowing the ways of Royal lifestyle while it allows us to be acquainted with the historical facts and tells the tale of courageous acts of Royal families.
Exiting from the Museum, we will walk through the elite street of Durbar Marg that is famed for being lined with shops that bring the clothes of recent international trend into Nepalese Market. KFC and magnificent looking Malls are other prized assets of Durbar Marg which have aided in giving Durbar Marg the ultramodern western looks but with local touch.
Returning back from Durbar Marg, we will walk into the UNESCO enlisted Kathmndu Durbar Square premises. Taleju Temple, the abode of Living Goddess- Kumari, Kal Bhairab and Kasthamandap are some of the cultural marvels existing around Kathmandu Durbar Square that is worth visiting.
Acknowledging the cultural monuments at the core Kathmandu, we will then leave for Swayambhunath Stupa also known as ‘Monkey Temple’ which is perched atop the hill towards the west of Kathmandu city. In addition to have the chance of observing the oldest Stupa in Nepal that was built more than 2000years back, the hill is also popular for offering the panoramic views of Kathmandu Valley.
