Testimonial

Peak Endeavour’s Nepal provides an excellent overall experience from the time of arrival in Nepal until you leave on your flight home. Norbu Lama, the owner of Peak Endeavour’s is a very knowledgeable guide. He knows much about the people, religion and regions of Nepalese trekking. Moreover he provided complete sightseeing and shopping in the Kathmandu area during our stay. His staff is courteous, honest and provides professional service and excellent security throughout the trek. The kitchen staff and chief cook understand the health concerns of weak western stomachs and did their best to keep us healthy. No one had health issues throughout our 20 day trek. The pace of the trek is well suited to achieve the altitude goals of the highest pass. Acute Mountain sickness was a non-issue as we progressed at a pace that provided adequate time to adapt to the altitude. The camping outfit provided by Peak Endeavour’s used high quality sleeping and eating tents. We felt like royalty. The trek itself was the best ever. Much diversity of culture, terrain, and ecologies. In summary, we would have no hesitation in any regard to use Peak Endeavour’s Nepal again in the future and greatly enjoyed our trip in 2010. We will be back!

Trekking In Dolpo Region
The northern part of Dolpo is usually called Inner Dolpo and has always had an aura of mysticism. The high valleys of Dolpo are some sign of the most remarkable in the himalya with sweeping views stretching to the arid Tibetan plateau. Trekking here offers a real adventure, in a remote, unspoiled part of Nepal that Trekking In Dolpo Region
has remained largely untracked and unexplored. Our trek begins with a flight to jumla via Nepalgunj. The first part of trek is not difficult and provides delightful walking before joining ancient trade routes and the steep ascent to cross the Kagmara La (5225m0, our entrance to upper Dolpo. The scenery begins to change with the hills becoming shades of red, brown and gray. Eventually you can hear prayer flag fluttering at the top of the pass, and the view opens up dramatically looking east towards the snow peaks of the kanjiroba Himal and the five peaks of Dhaulagiri. We soon walk through the pleasant green pastures to the beautiful Phoksundo (Rigmo) lake. The scenery is outstanding with the deep blue waters of the lake contrasting with the weathered red and brown hills.
  • Dolpo Mustang Trek
Dolpo Mustang Trek Dolpo is located inside the Shey Phoksumdo National Park of mid-western Nepal, behind the Northside of the Dhaulagiri massif towards the Tibetan plateau Cut off by a series of very high passes, closed by snow most of the year, Dolpo remains truly an isolated corner of Nepal. Time had stood still here for centuries, so has the inhabitants' way, since time immoral. The finely preserved ecosystem encompasses a wild and wonderful variety of plants and wildlife, including the blue sheep and snow leopards. A trek through Dolpo to Mustang is an experience not easily forgotten. We travel in the restricted area of this region from Shey to Lo Monthang. We will need to have a special permit to do this route, and a government representative to accompany the party as per rule.

  • Dolpo Classic Trek
Dolpo Classic Trek Long out of bounds to foreign trekkers, Dolpo lures adventurers with promises of untouched natural splendor, mystical cultures and rare wildlife. Dolpo situated in Nepal's far west was only recently opened to trekkers. This is where you find the stunning Phoksundo Lake, celebrated as the jewel of Dolpo. The people here trace their origins to Tibet, and their culture is a window of the tradition as practiced on the roof of the world centuries ago. The delusive snow leopard is a famous denizen of Dolpo and the rare cat has acquired the status of a mere legend. Thus it's not only the scenery that attracts trekkers to Dolpo, it's the chance to see a corner of Nepal that very few visitor will ever experience.

  • Dolpo Jumla Trek
Dolpo Jumla Trek Jumla to Dolpo is perhaps the best way to get a taste of remote Nepali country life. Arranged in the seasons when the air is clear, the mountains are lovely, and the dry plains heart touching, this trek climbs up to villages, which are possibly the highest natural settlements of man. Mountains and monasteries are found in unlikely places, and the region still has followers of the pre-Buddhist Bonpo religion. This region was opened up in 1989 to organized trekking groups and to individual trekkers in 1990. There are Tibetan style inner Dolpo villages in Tarap, but most of the southern part of Dolpo is a region of Hindu influence.

  • Rara Lake Trek
Rara Lake Trek Rara Lake lies in the remote far northwest of Nepal. Surrounded by verdant alpine meadows and steep densely forested ridges abundant with wildlife. The lake is stunningly beautiful, with unbelievably tranquility, a paradise untouched. The region around Jumla and Rara Lake is still relatively unexplored.
